Life Skills Day

On the 21st March 2019 was a whole school Safeguarding Life Skills Day with guest speakers coming in to inspire and encourage our students to embrace positive behaviour and deal effectively with the demands and challenges in life.

FALCON is a specialist police team dedicated to fighting fraud and online bank scams. They warned students about recent scams to not only steal their money but also risk getting a criminal record by allowing their bank accounts to be used to receive and move money on behalf of others.

Royal London Hospital is one of four major trauma centres in London and they spoke to students about the impact of anti-social behavior on not just the victim, but the perpetrator, the family, friends, classmates and the wider community. COMPASS spoke about and an insight into how harmful, addictive and life destroying drugs and alcohol abuse can be.

ECP (Education Child Protection) provided students with up to date on-line safety information in an engaging and calm manner that was Invaluable, essential learning for all;
“Eye opening as I have more knowledge about online safety and what could potentially happen to me or my friends”- year 11 student

We loudly welcomed former international boxing champion and founder of The Kiyan Prince Foundation http://www.thekpf.com Dr Mark Prince OBE who spoke passionately about aspiration, self-worth and respect.

The day was a success and students spoke about how much they had benefitted from listening to the speakers.
