Key Stage 3 to 4 transition (2021/22) – Year 9
In year 9 students start their preparation for GCSE’s and have the opportunity to focus on 2 creative arts subjects.

Key Stage 4 Year 10 and 11
In Key stage 4 all students study the core subjects English, Math and Science, along with RE or Citizenship in year 10. In addition, students get to choose up to 3 additional students based on their interests and strengths. All students are encouraged to continue at least one creative subject to ensure they continue to study a broad curriculum.

Key Stage 5, The Sixth Form
Lea Valley Academy is part of the Edmonton Academy Trust (Edact), whilst the majority of students study all of their courses at LVA this does offer the opportunity to study courses not offered at LVA at one of our partner schools.
In addition to studying their chosen course students receive regular pastoral support and guidance with their studies. The sixth form team, work alongside the schools career advisor in helping students prepare for the next steps after school whether it be one the uk’s top Universities, apprenticeship or work.

Level 2 Offer
This is suitable for students who need to resit English and/or Maths and require additional preparation for Level 3 studies. The offer includes studying GCSE English and Maths along Level 2 BTECs in Applied Science and IT.
Note : the running all subjects at key stage 5 are subject to sufficient numbers on the course for the year.
Additional Support Curriculum
This is the additional support and lessons the school provides for students identified as someone who would benefit from additional targeted academic support.
Literacy Support
All students in year 7 & 8 have 1 lesson a week of accelerated reader and a 20minute reading intervention each day.
