Careers

We believe that access to Careers Education and Guidance is a learning entitlement of all our students. The innovative and broad curriculum offered at Lea Valley Academy allows students to be flexible in course choices and build their portfolio of academic and vocational qualifications

Students are taught how to access information and where they can find help, support, advice and guidance, as well as participate in activities that help gather, understand and interpret information and apply it to real-life situations. Impartial guidance and support assists students when making informed decisions about themselves, own aspirations and ambitions.

All students take part in work experience placements in Year 12; allowing students to gain valuable insight into the workplace, and forging strong links with employers in the local community. Our Sixth Form Life skills and tutorial programme enables us to ensure that all of our students are participating in activities which will support their progression to universities, internships and the workplace.

We aim to raise the aspirations of our students so that they can have the highest possible expectations of themselves and their future careers.
